Dog Monitor at Mac App Store analyse

not live web cam ,just a picture doesnt tell you that until you download the app and buy it.

Let me start off with saying I love the concept of the dog monitor. It really is a great way for me to keep my eye on my anxious dog while I’m at work. … However, it doesn’t last very long before it disconnects and won’t let me reconnect without restarting it on the device I leave at home, which completely defeats the purpose.

With a new puppy at home, we were contemplating getting a drop cam and then I stumbled upon this app! Fantastic idea! It’ll also notify me when she’s being loud and can even detect the radio so I don’t constantly notified about background noise. I’m not sure what the issue the previous reviewer had but mine has yet to drop out so I suspect the issue might not have been the app itself. Only downside is you can only use one “person station” at a time, so my boyfriend and I can’t both watch her at the same time :( But it’s a wonderful peace of mind knowing she’s snoozing soundly before we even get to work!

Overall, this is quite a nice little app. You set up an iOS device to spy on your puppies, then connect your mac to it remotely. It will play noises through your mac’s speakers (with an adjustable sensitivity, so you don’t hear every little peep). It also lets you watch via video and speak to the dogs (to correct a barking dog, for example). As a bonus, even though the description says that video only works when 2 devices are on the same wifi network, this is in fact not the case; I can stream live video from home to any other network. Some people may have firewall issues (for example, I can’t connect from work). If you can manage it, this can be solved by routing your traffic through a VPN. My only real complaint is that the iOS client has some nice features that seem to be missing from the mac version, the best of which is the activity log. When you are using 2 iOS devices, the “Person Station” (i.e., the one you are using, not the one that’s with the dogs) will log and record all sounds, so if you step away for a while you can flip through and see if there have been any noises while you were gone. This should absolutely be in the mac version as well! But otherwise, it works quite well and is quite affordable!

The Mac version of this app crashes without opening. I’ve never been able to use it. I need an update that actually works or I need my money back.

The Mac update is crashing. Help.

I just purchased on my Mac for $4.99 and the app crashes on startup and wont even open. Please fix!
