This official U.S. Department of State app is designed to educate those interested in careers in American diplomacy, or more specifically, diplomatic careers in the Foreign Service, and allow those who are unfamiliar with the Foreign Service to discover what it’s all about. The State Department’s Foreign Service employs U.S. citizens who are either Foreign Service Officers or Specialists. The Foreign Service Careers app explains and provides information on the five different Foreign Service Officer career tracks: Consular, Economic, Management, Public Diplomacy and Political, as well as the eight different Specialist areas: Administration, Construction Engineering, Facility Management Information Technology, International Information and English Language Programs, Medical and Health, Office Management and Security.
