Fluid intelligence refers to the ability to reason and to solve new problems independently of previously acquired knowledge. More information about the science from the support page. ** FEATURES ** - Simple but challenging gameplay - Graphical statistics with daily progress and trend line - Helpful gameplay animations and tips explaining all you need to know about dual N-back The idea is to remember sequentially spoken letters and positions of a square. The sequence length is increased or lowered for the next round depending how well you are doing. You will advance to your current top performance level quite fast and it takes some persistence to get to the next level. On the other hand, the length of the sequence (i.e. difficult level) for each round is deliberately changed quite easily so that there is minimal change to develop automatic processes and task-specific strategies which are actually not increasing your fluid intelligence in the long run.

Trying to buy full version. Every time same: "NOT PURCHASED. Something went wrong. You have not been charged"

Cant get past n=3...always tired or stressed

The only good free dual n-back app

There appear to a number of paid dual n-back apps out there, but this is the only one Ive found that is solely ad-supported. Its minimal, doesnt let you change sound sets or do any other customization but its free! And it works great. Totally solid! I would love the ability to change sound sets though, as a musician Id like to be able to use notes of the scale instead of letters.

This app gets better with each update! Of all the apps that offer a dual n-back exercise, this is by far the nicest. It is well maintained and offers some very nice features. Highly recommend it.

Still no sound

This has been a problem for several years now, apparently. This is hardly an insurmountable engineering challenge. The developers seem to not care.

Requires headphones

On my iPhone 6, the sound only works when using headphones. I find this pretty annoying, but otherwise the game is great.
