Description
Spanish verbs don't have to be scary.
Whether you're just starting to learn Spanish or pushing toward fluency, verb conjugation is usually what holds you back. It's the missing piece of Spanish grammar that keeps you from speaking confidently. Other apps make you memorize. We teach you to understand, so conjugation finally clicks and you can actually hold a conversation.
Ella Verbs is the Spanish verb app built for learners who want real progress.
How Ella Verbs works:
Learn a concept → Quiz until it clicks → Level up. That's it. No games, no fluff. Just a clear path from present tense to subjunctive, broken into 50 manageable levels. Our Smart Quizzes use spaced repetition (SRS) to target the patterns you're struggling with — not just individual words, but the tenses and verb types that aren't clicking yet. You practice what actually needs work, not what you already know.
What learners are saying:
"In 22 days I've learned more than in all the years before."
"I am not afraid to form sentences or speak anymore."
"Learned more in 3 days than 3 years on Duolingo."
"Great for beginners but essential for serious learners."
We're rated 4.9 out of 5 stars based on 14,000+ reviews.
What you get:
• 50 levels of bite-sized lessons and quizzes covering 18 tenses
• 2,400+ verbs with full English translations, synonyms, and step-by-step conjugation guides
• Smart Quizzes with built-in spaced repetition (SRS) — targets weak patterns, not just individual verbs
• CEFR level tracking (A1 → C2) so you know exactly where you stand
• Practice your way: typing, multiple choice, flashcards, listening, speaking, or sentences in context
• Spanish verb sudoku: a fun puzzle to practice while still promoting learning
• Full lessons on tricky topics like ser vs. estar and reflexive verbs
• Works offline: on your phone, tablet, or the web
Built by learners, for learners:
We're Jane and Brian: an Irish couple living in Spain, learning Spanish ourselves. We built Ella Verbs because we couldn't find a method that actually taught conjugation instead of just drilling it. Since we're a small team, we personally read and respond to every email (really). We release updates almost weekly and have shipped 50+ improvements each year since launch.

Version History
Latest: 3.11.6
¡Hola! Here's what's new in this update:
* You can now learn the "vos" form (used in Argentina, Uruguay, and more). Pick Rioplatense Spanish in onboarding/settings, or just turn on "vos" – it runs through lessons, conjugation tables, and quizzes.
* Redesigned the in-quiz tense indicator as a tappable coloured pill, plus some quiz input improvements.
* New and improved lessons: a "future in the past" section in the Milestone 6 lesson, the "adding y" rule explained in the Level 12 irregulars lesson, more verbs in the preterite irregular yo level, and more.
* Lots of new verbs – we now have over 2,400!
* Improved our typo detection when using an accent on a different letter.
* Lots of bug fixes – thanks for reporting them!
We hope you enjoy! As always, please send any feedback our way via [email protected] :)
All the best,
Jane and Brian
