Works like a charm

Works exactly as advertised.

FAST AND EASY!!!!

I have been doing subtitles for 2 years with this app in FCP X, and it is a time saver. Only takes 2 steps and that it. Everything is mounting in my timeline, very quick. I’m happy with this app, is very solid and never let me dawn.

Greatest Stuff to work with it!

…The one feature needed: make a possibility to load MORE than one subtitle on a FCP X timeline. It’s useful for self-control when make voiceover (one subtitle is common, another - personal for work). All the rest - FINE! :)

Excellent!

Simple to use and quite effective. I had subtitles - srt file - that needed to be inserted into a film. As FCP doesn’t deal with srt and Premiere deals rather poorly with it, my only option (being on a very tight schedule) was to revert back to XML, import XML into FCP and create a new export of the film featuring the burnt-in subs. Final SRT really saved the day, and even pinpointed a timecode issue that was easily fixed with a text editor. This app runs flawlessly with FCP7 once you understand how to proceed. There’s an excellent tutorial on YouTube for that matter. Kudos to Bin Liu. I will definitely have a look at your other apps.

not working as promised

We bought the program because of the promising tutorial but sadly it is not working with our project. 19 min documentary - tough deadline. Instead of a project including all subtitles we get a warning saying we would have to do some work on the XML file. We do not have time for this right now. So in the end it might work but I cannot recommend it if you want an out of the box solution. Unfortunately we’ll have to buy another more promising app...

Screws up SRT timecode

Seems to screw up the timecode of the imported SRT file then tries to send you to upgrade to an editor to fix the errors it found (created?) The SRT file in question was created by SubtitleExtractor and works perfectly in Aegisub keeping exactly the same timecode values. After importing an FCP created XML file it keeps asking for one with a Title when that is precisely what it is working with. I invested in XTI Subtitle Importer to produce an FCPXML file which Final SRT finally accepted for processing rather than a file output by FCP itself. The fact that I had to purchase another converter to create an acceptable FCPXML file for this program to work with seems somewhat redundant. Although considerably more expensive, XTI Subtitle Importer worked very well. So not sure how best to rate this program other than “buyer beware".
