Description

The Options Pricing Calculator is a free App that allows users to price options using a "what-if" type analysis. The calculator allows users to input the price of the underlying security, the strike price of an option, the number of days to expiration and other necessary inputs. The output displays not only the theoretical price for both calls and puts using those assumptions, but also the array of associated Greek values for each side of the equation. Use the calculator to make changes to any of the input fields to view the impact on the price of an option.

Great Idea - Poor Execution

The idea behind doing an options calculator for iOS is awesome. IB typically has outstanding technology so it is surprising to see the details that were left out of this app. 1. The numeric entry keypad uses a phone layout and there isnt a decimal point so the only way to enter a number with a decimal is to edit the default data - poor execution. 2. There isnt a way to enter default values for some of the values e.g. every time a new calculation is initiated the interest rate has to be changed. 3. It doesnt support multi tasking and every time you go back to the app the T&Cs have to be checked off and all the default data in the sample screen is in the data entry, the previous calculation erased. I am a fan of IBs technology and have the option calc widget on my desktop. This app is free, has a marginal interface, and no multi tasking support. Hopefully later versions live up to IBs standards.

Morgan Stanley Broker for seven plus years and expected more. Cant enter symbols or get quotes, updates, strike prices, expiration dates or much of anything else. WHAT A WASTE!

Free app, no IB login needed. Calculates the prices of calls and puts and gives basic Greeks based off of your inputs. Got the same result as the CBOE option calculator on their website Simple app but it works
