Just to Say writes the short, kind line you cannot quite find — for anniversaries, new babies, birthdays, sympathy notes, and the ones that should make someone laugh.
Pick the occasion. Read what it wrote. Keep it, or ask for another. Copy it into a card, or share it straight into a message.
NEW: ASK SIRI
"Hey Siri, write a birthday message." The words arrive spoken and on a card you can copy — which matters when you are standing in a shop with the pen still capped, or you have just heard someone's news and want to say the right thing before the moment passes. It works from the Action Button and in Shortcuts too.
WHAT IT COVERS
Anniversary — for the years counted and the love kept.
Baby — for welcoming a new little one.
Birthdays — small notes for the big day, from the heartfelt to the cheeky.
Sympathy — quiet words, when words are hard.
Funny — a line to lift the day.
WRITTEN ON YOUR DEVICE
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence the lines are written fresh, on the device, each time you ask. Where that isn't available the app falls back to hundreds of hand-written lines that ship inside it, so it works the same on a plane, in a shop with no signal, or on an older phone.
A daily reminder is optional. Turn it on and you get a short nudge, at most once a day, when there might be a card to write. Those are composed on your device too.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE
No accounts. No cloud. No tracking. No subscriptions. No advertising. The privacy nutrition label says "Data Not Collected", and the app has nothing to send anywhere even if it wanted to.

ASK SIRI
"Hey Siri, write a birthday message." Or an anniversary one, or something for a new baby, or a sympathy note, or something funny. Siri reads it back and shows it on a card you can copy — no need to open the app at all, which is the point when you are already holding a pen. It works from the Action Button and in Shortcuts.
WHEN WE ASK FOR A RATING
We ask when a message has actually been used — copied into a card, or shared with the person it was for — and never on launch, never from a menu.
Never after a sympathy message either. You have just written to someone who has been bereaved; that is not a moment for us to ask you for anything.
At most three times a year, counted by the app rather than left to chance, so those three land on moments you might genuinely want to rate. "Not Now" costs you nothing and we will not ask again for months.
ALSO
• Fixed: the rating prompt used to count messages generated, which went up fastest for the people the app was serving worst — tapping "New" nine times means nothing written yet was right. It now waits until something is actually used.
• Fixed: the prompt could be spent invisibly on a cold launch after an update. It is now counted per person, not per release.
