Lexica™ Word Finder is a word search utility, with intuitive, simple ways to search for words allowed in Hasbro, Inc.’s Scrabble® word game that use (1) the three word lists for Scrabble tournament play around the world: SOWPODS (267,751 words) and its two revisions, CSW12 (270,163 words) and CSW15 (276,663 words); (2) the three word lists for Scrabble tournament play in the United States, Canada, Israel and Thailand: OTCWL2006, also called OWL2 (178,691 words), OTCWL2016, also called OWL3 (188,738 words) and OTCWL2018, also called OWL4 (192,111 words); and (3) the two Scrabble word lists for students, SSWL2016 (188,273 words) and SSWL2018 (191,520 words). Switching between the eight word lists is a snap! You can even specify one or more letters already on the board and Lexica will provide all the words that can be added on to it using your letters.

You can sort the search results alphabetically, by word length, or by word score, ascending or descending.

Lexica provides several customization options to suit your preferences. Choose whether to show word scores, show word definitions, and more. Lexicas detailed help will help you unleash all of its capabilities.

Watch your average word score and win rate increase with Lexica! There are no annoying ads in Lexica, but ads may be shown by the online dictionary provider.

Ads literally everywhere on a $2.99 app

I paid three dollars for this app and every entry is riddled with advertisements. For each page that shows a definition there is 1.) a floating banner ad at the bottom that moves with the scrolling action, 2.) a banner ad at the top of the page, 3.) a SECOND banner ad at the top of the page, 4.) an large ad with a large image in between each definition of the word, 5.) at least one large flash or somehow animated ad at the bottom of the page. The entry for the word "aardvark" had seven (7!) total advertisements. This is seven text-based distractions while youre parsing out what is the useful information on the page, seven extra elements to slow down the loading of the page, and seven places to accidentally click and navigate you away from the app while youre trying to scroll. Not to mention the intrusive banner ads the floats at the bottom of the page and scrolls with you as you search. Its infuriating for a paid app, and especially one that costs thee dollars, to abuse their user like this. Also, will frequently freeze and not allow you to navigate back to the search page from definitions even by swiping from the left side of the screen. The sorting features and the clean graphics interface would have made this an enjoyable app otherwise but that advertisements make it difficult to read and use. There has to be a better word finder app than this and Id encourage you to find it. For the record, Im not old and crazy and bad at using my phone. Im in my twenties and Ive had four generations of iPhones. I just recognize a crappy design when I see it.
