Somewhat Disappointing

I was surprised to learn that this program appears to consist of a single session about 35 minutes long. I had expected at least several sessions. Regardless, it seems to be fairly well presented. The accompanying music is interesting, the presenters voice encourages the listener to relax, and the graphics are attractive.

Not for me

I hate this app. I wanted to try it because I really like Sleep Now and Relax Now, but this was a real let-down. I thought it would address the stress connected with eating too fast, on automatic pilot, etc, and help me relax and enjoy my meals. Instead it is quite negative. First, he lists his rules about what, when and how you should eat. This is no different than any bad diet. Worst, during the Lose Weight Now session, he suggests the listener become digusted with themselves, comparing oneself to someone sloppy and disgusting and contrasting that against a perfect imaginary image. This is exactly the thinking most of us try to get away from. It is this tendency-the tendency to put ourselves down-that causes us to eat too much. This causes stress, anxiety and poor self-esteem. We dont need another reason to feel bad about ourselves. An absolute downer and terrible for ones self esteem, so more than likely, bad for the waistline as well. Dont buy it, its a drag.

Unique App...

The British hypnotist has a very friendly, kind voice. Sure, his "common sense rules" about eating arent for everyone (one reviewer said he gave some negative messages), but the gist of what he says is positive. I did notice after listening to the App a couple of times that he says most of the more hypnotist/suggestive type things toward the end of the recording. I didnt notice this at first because I had fallen asleep during the recording the first few times. I think theres a reason why those "suggestions" are when the listener is in a more relaxed or receptive state. The critical mind is less active. I think this guys the real deal. There is one glitch that I hope can be fixed…I set my preferences to the "sleep" setting (not to wake up after the session) & I hear BOTH conclusions to the session. "WAKE UP at the count of five…NOW you are going into a deep sleep etc etc"…I hope the makers of the App can fix that little/not so little issue, because this App is otherwise quite good. Oh and by the way, I did notice some changes in my eating behavior soon after listening to the App. Not as hungry between meals, for one thing. Works best if you listen to it on a regular basis. Cheerio!
