News in Slow Spanish at Mac App Store analyse

I love News in Slow Spanish and I was excited when I heard they now had an app. I was terribly disappointed after downloading this app. It does not add to the learning experience. Some ways the app could have been executed better are: 1. Make the text actually readable! The background with font color makes the text unreadable. 2. Allow background playing of the audio track so you can read while listening. 3. Put markers in the audio so you know where a section begins and ands and you can navigate easier. Good thing about this app, I can listen to the audio now, but I could already do that through the podcast or web version. The app could have a lot better, and Im looking forward to it achieving its full potential.

I have been a huge fan of News in Slow Spanish, but I have to say that this app is a big step back for the user experience. It has two primary problems. First, it wont keep the episodes you download. They magically disappear. This means that if you downloaded them and then plan to listen later, you are out of luck. I havent listened to News in Slow Spanish for several weeks now because of this. Second, the visual experience is atrocious. Somehow, somebody thought it was a good idea to put yellow and black text on a complicated orange and black background. It is unreadable. Amazing that someone would think this is helpful. I am hopeful that this is all just growing pains and that News in Slow Spanish will get this product up to modern standards. Its a bummer to take such a great product and make it worse.

Downloaded episodes disappear making this app worthless. I love the web version but this is worthless until episodes stay on app. Also would be helpful to have entire dialogue as well.

I already have a paid subscription and just downloaded app today. The app needs work. It is impossible to read the articles with a complete background of a cityscape behind the words. Please take away the dark photo background and use normal white as a background.

The app caught my eye, and sounded just like what I was looking for, but it requires a login and gives no link or explanation on where to get an account. After searching out the website, I found that it costs more than I am willing to pay for (slow) news in Spanish.

How disappointing. I had been listening to the French and Spanish versions of this excellent podcast. Suddenly it went to a paywall to listen to the full podcast. Im certainly willing to pay for such an excellent program but these prices are quite a shock. I hope they reconsider their pricing structure soon.
