Description

nH2O is a “water property” calculator that calculates various thermodynamic properties of steam and water. nH2O is based upon the Modular Modeling System (MMS) steam property library which is composed of a set of routines, some polynomials and some table interpolations of the thermodynamic properties of steam and water. In general, all subcooled liquid and superheated vapor of steam properties are accurate to +/- 0.24% within a pressure range of 0.01 to 6,000 psia and enthalpy ranges from 100 btu/lbm to 1600 btu/lbm outside the saturation region. Saturated properties are accurate to within +/- 0.24% from 0.1 psia to 3,200 psia within the saturated region. The Calculator calculates: Saturation Properties as a function of Pressure (P) Saturation Properties as a function of Temperature (T) Subcooled, Saturation, Superheated properties as a function of Pressure & Enthalpy (PH) Subcooled, Saturation, Superheated properties as a function of Pressure & Temperature (PT) Calculated properties include Pressure (P), Temperature (T), Enthalpy (h), Entropy (s), Specific Volume (v), Density (ρ), and Quality (x). Support is provided for both US Conventional units, and Conventional SI units. ** NOTE: The functions used in the nH2O calculator are designed for dynamic thermodynamic simulation. They are generally accurate to within 1% of conventional routines, but are NOT identical to ASME, IAPWS, or IFC formulations. **

Could be much better..

Davidaffyduck · 12 years ago · v1.4.1

The range up to 10 bar is absolutely not usable, because typing in 0.9 MPa, equal to 9 bar, results in 0.00061 MPa. Also there is no interpolation implemented, not even an option for linear interpolation, which was the reason why I was looking for an app like this.

It works. Not bad

I m doing power eng . I found it cool

Great app for the price

Nice simple app for quick calculations. I wish it had a way to export or email results but other than that, this is fine!

A must for the sociable geek

Im in a bar right now and downloaded this app to calculate the amount of heat removed per gallon of water charged to a Japanese nuke plant. Nothing impresses the ladies more, btw. With the help of this fine free app I was able to showcase my engineering prowess and walk away with a girls number.

Great for power plant operators!

I use it for telling me what my super heat is at while starting up a power plant. It would be nice if it just told me how much super heat I have. Instead of going off of the heat above saturation temp but it works. Thank you for making the app!!!

Useful for the price

As a mechanical engineer, this app really helps and saves me a lot of time.
