Osaka Guide is more than just tourist information. Our aim with this application is to take some of the more difficult aspects of traveling in Japan and assist you in those areas so that you can better enjoy your vacation experience. Osaka Guide is being developed with tourists in mind. We understand that most people visiting Osaka have a cell phone but Internet access may be unavailable or expensive. We are doing our best to make as much information available offline as possible. We address common issues such as: Finding places near you. Our application will check where you are via GPS and give you a list of interesting tourist sites around you ordered by distance (closest to furthest away). Listing of Major Attractions. Osaka is a large, beautiful city and there are many interesting and fun places to explore. Our first series of attractions includes an amusement park, historical landmarks, and more. Emergency Services. 911 will not work in Japan. Nor will any other U.S. emergency number. So, weve provided a list of all the emergency services available to you as well as a brief explanation of some of the Japanese the emergency operator will use when answering the phone. In addition, weve noted at which numbers English speakers are available. Embassy Information. Weve included a map, directions based on your present location, a list of services available at the embassy as well as the contact information. Conversion Tools. Japan uses the metric system so weve included a conversion tool to assist you in your travels. Updates coming soon. Our plan is to periodically add information, pictures, phone numbers, and more.
