Description
Select the camera, select the script and scan. If ScanCode detects a QR or barcode it will execute a script you selected.
It supports Shell Scripts, Automator Workflows and Shortcuts.
By writing your own scripts they can act as a starting point of any barcode related automation.
What some people have done with ScanCode:
- Scan all their books and add them to a spreadsheet
- Air gapped transfer of keys between computers
- Scan a SEPA QR code and pass it on to banking software (e.g. moneymoney)
- Check tickets on venue entry
The options are almost limitless.
To get started with some easy examples: follow in the instructions and copy over the example scripts.
This is required due to the sandbox restrictions. Also check the documentation from the Help menu.
ScanCode uses the libraries that come with macOS to decode QR and barcodes. With macOS 12 Apple currently supports the following types of codes:

Please note:
1. Due to sandbox restrictions, the Shell Scripts and Workflows must live in a specific folder (available from the menu).
2. Without a purchase, you will see the code but only the code TRIAL will be passed to the scripts. This allows for a try before buy.
