SerialMailer Lite at Mac App Store analyse

Hab das Programm heute ausprobiert … es macht genau was es soll, einfach und quasi selbsterklärend … übersichtlich mit Protokollfunktion, Datenbankfunktion mit Feldern für individualisierte Mails etc … Passt!!

Viel gesucht, wie ich EINFACH eine personalisierte Serienmail verfassen und aussenden kann - bei allem was man findet Unsicherheit, ob es passt. Hier gibt es die Lite-Version, einzige Limitierung ist der Versand an maximal 10 Empfänger gleichzetig, sonst unlimitiert. Also bestens für´s Ausprobieren, und dann auch noch mit deutscher Benutzerführung (bin des Englischen zwar mächtig, aber so ist es kaum "mühsam"). Resultat: es macht alles genau so wie beschrieben, erfüllt zu 100% den Zweck für ein kleines Büro wie meins. Man nimmt Gruppen aus dem Apple-Adressbuch oder importiert eigene Listen (z.B. via Excel ins CSV-Format = hier einlesen, fertig). Man hat bei allen Schritten jederzeit alles unter Kontrolle und nicht das Gefühl, da geht jetzt was raus, was ich nicht übersehe. Und: man kann Anlagen beifügen, schon früher unter Windows mit Word und Outlook ein RIESIGES Manko, denn dort ging das NICHT. Alles in allem ein prima Tool, einfach und selbsterklärend zu bedienen, und am Ende kommen schlicht personalisierte Mails bei jedem einzelnen Empfäger an, die man nur einmal schreiben musste, und die auf Wunsch Anhänge haben (selbst hier kann man je Empfänger individuelle Anhänge bestimmen), also exakt das, was ich erreichen wollte. Tipp an den Produzenten dieses Programms: Machen Sie doch im Deutschen App-Store auch eine Deutsche Beschreibung dazu = ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass sich dann viele eher "rantrauen", als mit der "englischen Hürde". Denn: wenn man Google so bemüht, was da alles empfohlen wird, und wie oft so etwas wie dieses Tool gesucht wird, dann könnten Ihre Umsätze ggf. deutlich steigen ;-) Danke, beste Grüße, Lars

When I started using SerilMailer (lite) I was very (very) happy. - The interface made it very easey to use. - I immediatley uploaded xls file/datasets - Drafted a simple, but good looking email (with graphics) - Reviewed the email - Input my SMTP settings for my business email account and then - Hit send - and then it happened… SerialMailer appears to not work with Office365 SMTP settings. My research indicates it works with Gmail (etc.), but that is not acceptable for my professional life. I worked for almost two hours to make sure I had not messed a setting up; but that is not what happened. It doesn’t matter how easy a tool like this is to use if it won’t actually send your emails through your current email system. If they can fix this issues - not a work around - (as I have not had any formal response from my support request), I will be very happy to try this again (and update this review).

A little bit rough interface, a little bit unintuitive, have some bugs: if you copy html e-mail text from app with inserted special fields (e-mail, first name, second name) to some other text editor and then copy them back - youll lose activation of this fields (but will still have code in text). But it really worth trying, because with some work you can get what you want.

It does exactly what I needed to reach my customers. Ill be upgrading to the paid version.

SerialMailer seems exactly perfect for what I wanted to do. I tried mail merge in Word, but it requires I use Entourage (Word 2008) or Outlook (Word 2011) as my default mail app, and I wanted to use Apple Mail. I tried the mail merge in FileMaker, but it only supports plain text, you have to awkwardly compose mails as "calculated fields," there is no preview and no watching the progress of sent emails. Basically, FileMaker is awkward to use for mail merge. But with SerialMailer I can compose emails in a normal looking, if simple, editor, I can preview each message before it goes out, I can choose to use formatted emails (works fine), there are "smart fields" which depend on the values of the fields I import from FMP, I can easily save and re-use templates, and I can even track the progress as the mails are sent out. And all my test emails arrived just fine. Its really everything I was looking for in a mail merge. I will be purchasing the paid version.

Does exactly what is is supposed to do. Also love the variable attachment feature, looking to use that soon.
