Made worse

Ih8apple&itunes · 9 years ago · v3.08

I paid for this app before it was free. For adults reorganizing by vowel type might make sense but the kids liked being able to see all the activities on the same screen. Starfall also added some non-reading games to promote their other apps. If you are just downloading the free version now this may not be as frustrating as it is for me. Be wary of paying for any Starfall apps though. I paid for a reading app that "updated" to this free version. Now I have to be vigilant or my kids are playing a silly game about a monkey instead of learning to read.

My kids really enjoy this and it has a lot of content.

Very well crafted!

I was looking for a simple app to help my son start to read. I wanted something that would give him help to figure out words and this was my first choice. In fact, im not sure ill bother trying something else at least for a while because not only is my son learning (within a day of using this app) he was realizing how to figure out words! Im blown away at how this app was done amazingly right- i would even pay 10$ for it - but the icon they used for the app almost prevented me from paying 3$ for it and look elsewhere (change the icon guys)! Even my slightly younger daughter (who is quite smart at 4), is catching on! Thats because its so intuitive and well thought out with examples that i imagine must come from the standard teaching method, but i have no clue of how kids are taught in schools these days- but frankly, im jealous that i didnt have these kinds of (extremely fun and addictive) learning games at my disposal when i was young! :)

Exactly what I was looking for!

This is amazing. It brings phonics to life! It is the perfct learn-to-read app!

Fun and works well

The app is well done. Its easy for my son to figure out how to use. He enjoys both the word-building exercises and the reading sections. Its very useful for him to be able to tap words hes having difficulty reading, and have the app help him pronounce the word correctly.

Rip off

So I spent the 3.99 to get the app and its a blank screen.
