All in all a very good typing app. Different games, which are very funny. Different themes: Safari, Time travel, Countries of the world. Achievement like Location sessions are great for motivation. Very important for me: You can create own tests and texts with symbols that are from other languages than english, e.g. for me important is üäöß! All other apps I tested until now couldn’t do that. Graphic is old, but has its arcade charm. Not possible to make full screen, it’s always like 800 x 600 even on the Thunderbolt display, but since I can increase the font, it is not a big of a deal.
Don’t waste your money
I would be able to excuse the “my first flash project” graphics if the program didn’t crash every few minutes. About a third of the practice options don’t even work.
Does the job well
This application met my expectations for practicing my typing. The games are the typical cheesy typing tutor games (no different than Mavis Beacon), but the practice exercises are exactly what I was looking for, the lessons are easy to access to strengthen the weak skills, and the measurements / feedback work fine. The only thing I haven’t played with yet: customized lessons for common mistakes. So far, this is a great typing tutor.
Just the right solution!
As an adult who took typing class in high school I was searching for an easy way to heighten and tighten my typing skills. Tried some "free" options online, but there was no way to track my progress or go back to what I was working on. Checked out the App Store several times, but there was little to no options available. Was pretty thrilled to finally see this program hit the virtual shelf and it has been exactly what I was looking for! It immediately tests your current skill level and then provides numerous excercises to help improve. Easy to use and haved already recommended it to my staff at work and plan on sharing it with my kids as well. Although, I see the same company has a kid specific version as well!
My son loves it and is really learning to type!
This program is a lot of fun. My son actually looks forward to practicing each day. The lessons progress at a good pace, with lessons, tests, dictation, and games with multiple skill levels and options – so even for my son (age 11) this software never gets old. His goal word per minute is 30, and he’s making steady progress to get there shortly, which will be just about 4 weeks. The games have him hooked plus the theme is fun and makes practicing enjoyable. I give it a full 5 stars.
Very Enjoyable Learning to Type
This typing program is really enjoyable. It is difficult to learn to type when youre in your 30s, but this has been a nice surprise. The program has cool themes where you "travel" to countries or in time. Each lesson is in a new place and when you pass the tests you have a real feeling of accomplishment. The typing games come up periodically in the lessons and are quite fun and challenging. They are paced with your words per minute and the letters you know on the keyboard so I didnt get lost and lose in the first minute or two of the game. Ziggy is my favorite game - Im hooked! Its like solataire but better because Im learning to type faster and make fewer mistakes and having fun at the same time ... up to almost 40 words per minute. Yeah!
Waste of Money
I bought a brand new Macbook Pro and downloaded this app the very same day. At first the program worked great for me and the first few lessons were quickly learned. However, the more I used the app, the more it would freeze. Now, I only know half the keyboard and the system locks up every time I try to use it to learn more. Very disappointing, waste of money.
