W-Shape Design For Combined Forces is the first app of its kind which evaluates wide flange beam-column designs per the American Institute of Steel Construction manual AISC 360-10. This tool will allow structural engineers to perform complex w-shape beam-column designs wherever they are with their iPhone or iPad device. The app evaluates w-shaped members for combined compression, strong axis bending, and weak axis bending in a fraction of the time current commercial softwares and spreadsheets require. All inputs and results are contained on a single view to maximum efficiency and clarity of results.
Calculations are also provided which allow the user to validate the design separately, or follow along to better understand the code required design procedure. Whether used for training, or to supplement a practicing engineers services, this tool will be a valuable addition to any engineers toolset.
