Go south from Washington, DC on Route 95 to see some of the largest and most significant battles in the American Civil War. This app includes detailed information and maps for Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, Fredericksburg, and Spotsylvania. These were large and important battles in 1862, 1863, and 1864.
This app is from the makers of the best-selling “Gettysburg 150” app that was nominated in Apple’s 2012 Design Awards. Virginia Civil War 2 has a useful feature that enables you to open any location in Apple Maps. You can now select a battlefield, press “Open in Apple Maps” and receive driving, walking, or public transportation directions to the battlefield. Please note, you must have Apple iOS 6.0 or later for the "Open in Apple Maps" feature.
In addition to the map view, the app also has a satellite view to help you navigate the terrain and see how it affected the outcome of each battle. So download the app now and walk in the footsteps of history on America’s hallowed ground.
